BUTUAN LADIES DORMITORY HOUSE RULES


Please follow these rules to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of everyone in the dormitory.

Failure to abide by these rules will result in a warning and/or subsequent immediate termination of your lease agreement.

Butuan Ladies Dormitory serves as a second home for residents who are living away from their families. The residents are expected to establish, maintain, and enhance living conditions contributing to their personal maturity and healthy interrelations with others. It goes without saying that the resident is expected to exemplify self-discipline, responsibility and maturity with regard to: 1. his/ her roommate/s, 2. dormitory owners and staff, and 3. dormitory property and facilities

CURFEW HOURS

Curfew hours are set for the safety and general welfare of residents as well as for the peace of mind of parents.
Curfew hour: 9:00 pm
All residents must be inside the dormitory premises by 9:00 p.m. and be in their respective rooms by 10:30 p.m.
The residential gates are closed from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
In cases that residents have to stay beyond curfew hours, will not spend the night at the dormitory, or have to go home during weekends, they have to inform the Matron.

VISITORS

Visiting hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. only.

The rooms remain private areas for study and rest for all residents.

Only the immediate family members of the Resident can be allowed to enter the room with due permission from the Matron.

All other visitors shall be accommodated at the reception area.

No visitor is allowed to stay overnight in any dormitory room.

Permission from the Matron must be secured for other arrangements. Residents are responsible for ensuring their visitors are made aware of, and adhere to the house rules.

PARTIES

Parties are subject for approval from the Matron.

Residents must notify the Matron for at least 72 hours.

Residents must also request permission from your housemates.

STUDY HOURS

Residents may study inside their room anytime.

Residents are also allowed to study in other areas within the dormitory premises.

CLEANLINESS & SANITATION

All dormitory residents are responsible for keeping their rooms and surroundings clean at all times.

Beddings should be neatly arranged.

Eating is allowed only in the kitchen or in the dining room.

Waste segregation should be strictly observed.

All residents are responsible for keeping the common areas clean and tidy (i.e. bathroom/toilet/laundry/kitchen/lounge/outside areas).

Do not leave empty bottles, food or rubbish around.

Please clean the bench and stove top each time after you have finished cooking so it is clean for your housemates.

DRAINAGE

Keep all drains clear.

Do not throw anything (including tissues, tampons, pads or other sanitary items) down the toilet.

Residents will be billed with plumber bills for any items causing toilet or drain blockage.

Do not intentionally nor negligently interfere with the proper operation of any plumbing or drainage system on the property

ROOM INSPECTION

The Matron have the right to check each unit every day to make sure that everything is in order.

COOKING

Residents are prohibited from cooking inside the rooms. It should only be done in the kitchen.

Keep food preparation time to a minimum so others can use the kitchen.

Please keep all unused food properly sealed so you don’t encourage pests such as mice and ants in the house.

Make sure to clean the floor of any spilled food waste immediately at all times.

ELECTRICITY AND WATER

Be prudent in your use of power and water.

Use it as economically / efficiently as possible.

Make sure all electrical items e.g. TV, Fans, Lights, etc. are turned off when not in use.

HOUSE CARE

For any repairs, maintenance, housemate or administrative issues, please notify the Matron immediately.

Any damage to the dormitory furnishings will be paid for by the responsible resident/s.

Don’t install any picture hooks (3M tab removable hooks are accepted). Sticky-tape, pins, blue-tac, etc. are not permitted on the walls or doors.

No pets or animals allowed in the dormitory premises at any time.

NOISE LEVELS

Keep noise to a low level at ALL times – especially between the hours of 9pm and 7am.

Be respectful your housemates and to the neighbors by keeping any noise outside to a minimum – especially between the hours of 7pm and 8am.

Neighbor complaints are taken seriously and will be investigated.

Please be quiet when entering and exiting the dormitory at night.

INTERNET USAGE

Internet provision is not 100% guaranteed, if internet access is imperative to your life we would encourage you to purchase your own mobile internet.

Internet must be used fairly (NO torrent movie downloads or high data usage activities permitted).

IMPORTANT: Excessive usage (i.e. too many downloads) will lead to restricted access to websites that are deemed to generate the highest data downloads.

KEYS

Lost keys will incur a replacement fee and a locksmith charge to change locks.

Keys MUST BE returned to the Matron on the day of your departure.

If you can’t return the key yourself it’s your obligation to make sure someone returns it on your behalf (preferably one of your current housemates).

Residents are strictly prohibited from copying any keys.

SAFETY & SECURITY

The front/back doors and all windows MUST be kept locked at ALL times when nobody is home.

Be friendly and enjoy each other’s company but respect the privacy of other people’s rooms.

DO NOT ENTER other housemate’s rooms without their permission.

No open flames inside or out – this includes candles, fire pits, etc.

The Resident shall not bring into the dormitory premises any material, machinery or equipment that can expose the Dormitory and its occupants to danger or increase fire hazard. All personal items and belongings must be kept in your bedroom. It is your responsibility to ensure the security of your personal items and belongings.

Butuan Ladies Dormitory is not liable for any loss or damage to personal items and belongings.

STRICTLY FORBIDDEN

  1. Possession and smoking of cigarettes.
  2. Possession and drinking of liquor.
  3. Possession and bringing in of prohibited drugs, & pornographic materials.
  4. Possession of weapons or any dangerous items.
  5. Displaying disorderly conduct.
  6. Vandalism
  7. Gambling
  8. Immoral acts including public display of intimate affection.
  9. Spreading rumors that malign the reputation of other tenants.
  10. Allowing outsiders, including but not limited to friends and classmates, to enter the room.
  11. Deliberately destroying dormitory facilities, such as door knob, glass window, door, etc.
  12. Stealing or attempting to steal money and other property.
  13. Littering and non-compliance with the waste segregation program of the Institute.
  14. Habitual disregard or repeated willful violation of established Dormitory policies


MAJOR ACTS OF MISCONDUCT

Possession, use, or sale of illegal drugs and narcotics and drug paraphernalia within the premises; drinking/ bringing in of alcohol beverages; unauthorized possession of a dangerous weapon or material of any type of description, including firearms, air guns, illegal knives, explosive devices, flammable materials in any form of incendiary devices, fireworks, ammunition or any other dangerous ordinance with the dorm premise may result in termination of the contract and expulsion from the dormitory.

FINAL DEPARTURE / VACATING THE UNIT

When your contract comes to an end, your room must be left in exactly the same state as when you originally moved in to it.

If your room or other part of the house you occupied is left in a damaged / unreasonable state, we will charge you for all additional costs to return the room to the state in which you commenced your tenancy.

Failure to return your keys will result in you being charged for new keys made and door locks changed.

Please make sure to remove all personal belongings from the house - any items remaining after your departure will be deemed unwanted and will be disposed of after 7 days and you will be charged for costs associated with this.
